As a System Software Engineer in the System Compatibility Group at Micron Technology Inc. you will join a software team bringing a new technology, CXL, to market. CXL (Compute Express Link) is a next generation Cache-Coherent Interconnect for Processors, Memory Expansion and Accelerators.
Your responsibilities include planning, design, development, testing, and maintenance of system-level diagnostic software (RPx). We develop an understanding of system level environment and memory interaction to further improve system diagnostic tools.
We work with other specialists and leaders within the Compute/CXL Design Engineering Group as well as other individuals from throughout Micron. We also collaborate with system enablers outside of Micron. The software we develop enables other Micron groups globally, ranging from early product design validation to full scale production quality screening.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Define and develop system and memory diagnostic software tools
  • Debug system, software, and firmware related issues
  • Build & implement software testing infrastructure
  • Engage with Micron's system enablers
  • Design and implement automation for System Level testing


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Familiar with these hardware and equipment items:
  • Hardware: X86, ARM, System, Motherboard, DRAM, SSD, Intel, AMD, PCIe
  • Equipment: motherboard, processors, and other motherboard components
  • Experience with software programming languages: Python, C/C++, Assembly
  • Familiar with Linux platforms
  • Familiar with Agile project structures, and CI/CD flows
  • Familiar with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Artifactory
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, and curious approach
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science fields
  • 2 years of experience in relevant field.
