System Safety Engineer (SSE) - High Voltage
Description
Our team is looking for an upbeat and creative Systems Safety Engineer (SSE) to join our High Voltage team! The System Safety Engineer is responsible for tasks and work throughout the entire System, Software and vehicle development lifecycle, service and field actions including requirements definition, systems design and implementation, testing, and problem resolution for high voltage systems (High Components and Battery Systems)!
- Manage key strategic interfaces within systems to enable component and software reuse and consistency to standard methodologies
- Support product engineering team, providing specific knowledge for both internal and external programs
- Perform and lead the execution of the High Voltage Safety system requirements
- Lead High Voltage Electrical reviews informal and formal peer reviews for high voltage system safety process work products
- Use analysis tools to iterate solutions that optimize system performance and component contributions
- Translates high voltage system feature/specification/design requirements into functional/physical high voltage system safety requirements
- Work with component and vehicle engineering to ensure high voltage electrical safety system/subsystem interfaces are working as defined
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or a related engineering degree
- Minimum of 2 years of post-graduation engineering experience
- Ability to analyze technically complex problems and translate them into executable solutions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment under minimal direction
- Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to operate test vehicles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- 5 years of testing, development, safety, or simulation engineering experience
- Experience with high voltage electric systems and electric vehicle development
- Knowledge of High Voltage Systems
- Understanding of system safety
