As a System Integration Test Engineer, you will support verification of our vertical take-off unmanned aerial vehicle. You will help to plan and conduct UAV ground testing in support of product development and prototyping. You will work as part of a cross-functional team working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Salary Range: $67,029 $104,841 Annually + Bonus + Benefits+ Equity
Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
Primary role and responsibilities:
- Conducting engineering tests and troubleshooting on validation platforms
- Experimental testing to collect data and assist in validation work
- Troubleshooting when validation platforms fail to yield desired results
- Perform debug or special experiments without pre-defined documentation
- Support cross-functional remote engineers in use of the lab system hardware
- Configure/operate industry standard test and measurement equipment for debug and data collection
- Provide insightful feedback to hardware engineers
Additional responsibilities:
- Aircraft Management
- Track aircraft system status including configuration and version of avionics, propulsion, structures, and software
- Support flightworthiness evaluation through inspection and ground testing
- Organize and maintain ground and flight test equipment including aircraft, ground control station, ground support equipment by performing preventative, scheduled or unscheduled maintenance or troubleshooting
- Order parts and complete Return Material Authorization paperwork as required
- Test Documentation
- Provide supporting information for safety and flight readiness reviews
- Complete or approve appropriate documentation, logbooks, or flight logs without supervision
- Conduct virtual flight test through Hardware and Software simulation
- Diagnose avionics and propulsion subsystem behaviors
- Test Data Analysis
- Collect ground test data and support flight test engineer in data analysis as required; Data to be collected will include system health, propulsion efficiency, and communications
- Participate in or lead post-test debriefing
- Identify unexpected vehicle behavior via observations during ground or flight test troubleshooting, telemetry and log data, provide a summary for engineering to review
Required qualifications:
- B.S. degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline, such as Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. Technology-related degree plan also acceptable, e.g., Electrical Engineering, Aeronautics or Information Technology. Degrees with Manufacturing Testing competency will be considered
- 5+ years of experience with ground and/or flight test teams / maintainer or in a test related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in test event / resource management
- Organized and methodical with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated record of working hard, being trustworthy, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others
