Description

SAIC is rapidly growing a System Integration team to deliver a new, complex space and ground system in support of National Security. This exciting and innovative program, located in Chantilly, VA, is leveraging best practices in system engineering, via Digital Engineering, MBSE, Agile software development, and DevSecOps processes and technology. This multi-year contract will require energetic engineers to define and integrate major space systems and associated ground elements from concept into an operational enterprise.

SAIC is seeking System Integration and Test Engineer to join the Integration & Test IPT to bring the new space system and the associated ground elements from concept to an operational enterprise. You will support system engineering and integration activities from concept, to development, integration, and transition to an operational enterprise. You will be involved in early program development to inform critical test planning. You will bring a working knowledge of space/ground systems integration and test activities, develop test methodologies and execute tests to verify developed capability meets system requirements.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, planning, and executing verification methodologies for complex space and ground systems, and developing required verification plans, procedures and reports
  • Performing Systems Integration of ground segment and space segment through early integration tests, risk reductions and demonstrations in an Agile DevSecOps environment
  • Ensuring requirement traceability is established and maintained throughout requirement allocation, verification and validation
  • Analyze and decompose system requirements to develop detailed test objectives, plans, success criteria, and requirement closure approaches
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop, review and release verification and validation test plans
  • Reviewing requirement specification and Interface Control Documents and requests for changes to determine impacts to verification and validation testing.
  • Utilize Agile development practices including developing Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD) to document and validate system functionality and behavior
  • Build automation frameworks to increase reuse and reduce effort
  • Perform analysis and evaluations of system under test. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures
  • Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive system evaluation reports and risk assessments
  • Reports and evaluates discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes affecting systems and enterprise capabilities
  • Oversee and witnessing of space/ground segment-level test and verification events
  • Supporting system level validation events, interface tests, and end-to-end demonstrations

Qualifications

Current TS Clearance

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors of Science in engineering, science or related technical field with nine (9) years or more experience, or Master's and seven (7) years or more experience
  • Four (4) years of Systems Engineering experience

Qualifications:

  • Experience in systems integration and systems engineering
  • Experience in space-ground systems architecture and lifecycle support
  • Experience in implementing test automation frameworks and processes (e.g. BDD, TDD)
  • Experience with space-ground testing activities
  • Experience participating in Operational Assessments
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing
  • Experience with cloud based environment
  • Experience with DevSecOps development methodologies
  • Experience writing BDD/Gherkin test cases
  • Understanding of Software Build process and the CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous delivery) environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize competing requirements and tasks

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with DOORS, Cameo, JIRA and Test Management Tool (e.g. ZephyrScale)
  • Experience with STK, MATLAB, ModelCenter
  • Experience using model based system engineering concepts
  • Experience participating at the Agile Scrum level for sprint planning
  • Experience developing test automation scripts (e.g. Cucumber/Gherkin, Python)
