System Engineering Manager
GDIT is looking for a Technical Manager to lead enterprise Linux and Windows system administration and IT security operations for its Alabama Supercomputer Program in Huntsville, Alabama. The manager will provide technical direction to a team of systems administrators and security personnel. Responsible for advanced level support of server and storage systems used for network operations center, security operations center, e-mail services, web services, applications and database systems, and internal infrastructure systems supplied across 200 Linux servers and 65 Windows servers. Duties include securing, patching, upgrading, and monitoring onsite and offsite servers for malicious activity, and creating backups for onsite and offsite systems. Responsible for processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), capacity planning, colocation services including SOC 2 compliance, and overall management for Cyber Security Operations Center, Linux administrators, Windows administrators, and HPC administrators.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience with Linux and 5 years experience with Windows systems. Requires a B.S. degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Leadership of teams of 5 or more people.
Systems architecture solutions from the beginning to end (use-case analysis, design, vendor quoting, proposing, acquisition, implementing, and maintenance)

Webserver configuration experience (Apache/NGINX/IIS)
DNS configuration and maintenance (BIND, Primary/Secondary setups, DNSSec configurations, RPZs, Views, ACLs)
Linux networking (tcpdump, ss, ip, nmap, nmcli)
Linux monitoring (nagios, sensu, collectd)
Linux firewall (iptables, firewalld, or nftables)
Linux virtualization (KVM/QEMU, OpenVZ)
Linux database (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Influx)
Linux spam & virus using Mailscanner, Postfix, ClamAV, and Spamassassin
Linux email configuration of Postfix, SPF, DKIM, DMARC
Windows HyperConverged Infrastructure using RDMA, DCB, QoS, Storage Spaces Direct
Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and Virtual Machine Manager
Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Active Directory
