Our talented people empower us, and we believe in being part of a team that is open, collaborative, entrepreneurial, passionate and above all fun.
About the team
We are looking to grow the Systems Development Team. We are looking for a Systems Architect to work with our GT.M product for a client in Collegeville, PA. GT.M is a key-value database engine optimized for transaction processing and business continuity. The largest deployed applications serve thousands of concurrent users, with databases in the TB range and enterprise scale applications with tens of thousands of source code modules. GT.M has many unusual features - for example, the database engine has a daemonless architecture that uses optimistic concurrency control to provide ACID (Atomic, Consistent, Isolated, Durable) transactions. For anyone who enjoys working with data structures, algorithms and complex system level software, GT.M development is a DREAM JOB!
What you will be doing
As a member of the GT.M Development Team you will work closely with customers, business analysts and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions. The code is almost entirely in C, with a few bits of assembly language "glue code" in the language implementation.

  • Experience leading technology direction for multiple projects and has led or presented architecture concepts outside realm of immediate work-group
  • Analyzes requirements, and translates business requirements into product designs and writes technical specifications and other forms of documentation
  • Reviews functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements.
  • Suggests technical alternatives and improves/streamlines processes and systems
  • Communicates system architecture to technical and business audiences.

  • Maintains, tests and integrates system components
  • Experience in building robust and scalable infrastructure architectures (telephony systems, network services, web farms, multiple-node systems, etc
  • Reviews functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements.

What you bring:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Post-graduate education desired and 8+ years of IT Systems experience.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (i.e., agile or other modern approaches to software development)
  • Knowledge of C programming and Assembly Language.
  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic and responsive to internal and external customers and contacts
  • May require in-depth knowledge of networking, computing platform, storage, database, security, middleware, network and systems management, and related infrastructure technologies and practices
  • Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take

Added bonus if you have:

  • Systems programming experience
  • NoSQL database experience
  • Mission-critical systems experience
