The role will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, manage team performance & resources as well as provide leadership and project management on strategic initiatives.Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of scope of work and execution of technical studies and research and development aligned to sustainability & future mobility objectives
  • Lead development of sustainability requirements and objectives for future Boeing products
  • Provide technical oversight to sustainability & future mobility work statement
  • Support development of sustainability & future mobility technology roadmap
  • Provides the engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which includes internal and external resources and customers
  • Develops Statement of Work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirement
  • Works with stakeholders to obtain approval
  • Identifies and manages changes to statement of work and assesses the impact of those changes, and incorporates changes into statement of work
  • Leads project execution to complete the work statement and identifying performance metrics
  • Plans, identifies and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program
  • Assigns responsibility for activities to team members and ensures technical correctness and consistency of products and services
  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned
  • Identifies corrective actions to improve project or team performance
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans
  • Prepared to work under consultative direction

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in Cambridge, MA, United States. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience in leading projects and/or engineering teams
  • Experience working in a distributed environment and multiple teams
  • Experience in design, production, and build processes (e.g. produceability trade offs) to effectively influence product design

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in the collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data; summarization of findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
  • Experience in providing products and services that meet the highest technical, quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in Identifying and corrects conditions and behaviors that affect employee, public, and customer safety; upholding safety standards; demonstrating proactive safety culture leadership
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior management, customers, stakeholders, peers and partners
  • Experience in budget management principles and practices
  • Experience communicating what is needed to persuade and convince others without causing defensiveness and to inspire others to take action
  • Proficient in building relationships to gain support and commitment from others, promote ideas with enthusiasm, conviction, and assertiveness
  • Experience in understanding the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area
