Under the hood of the Uber platform is a large-scale, microservice-based architecture that facilitates the reliability and scalability of our products. Our Core Infrastructure team leads our site reliability, observability, computing, networking, and hardware operations from sites worldwide.
About the Role
As the Staff TLM on Reliability Data Platform team, you will have a profound impact on a wide variety of technology teams spanning multiple focus areas. We are looking for an experienced engineering leader who possesses top-class technical leadership experience building data products and systems. You'll own uber's reliability data platforms setting the overall vision, architecture and strategy with product and senior engineers. You will build Uber's Metric excellence platform, build the core hierarchy platform and use the data to predict trends and provide insights for our engineers to scale rapidly and grow reliably
What You'll Do
• Own the technical roadmap, architecture, design and strategy for the team.• Hire and retain critical and top notch talent in backend, data• Collaborate with multiple product, data and engineering teams to analyze key business problems and deliver engineering solutions end to end.
Basic Qualifications
• BS/BE degree in Computer Science and related field• Minimum 8 years industry experience in designing and building engineering solutions in production• Minimum 2 years in technical leadership and/or engineering management
Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of management building and leading a software engineering team;• Experience building systems or teams focused around Data Products or Infrastructure;• Experience with technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Flink, Lambda and Kappa architectures or similar.
