Bugcrowd is the world’s #1 crowdsourced security company. Our award-winning platform combines actionable, contextual intelligence with the skill and experience of the world’s most elite hackers to help leading organizations solve security challenges, protect customers, and make the digitally connected world a safer place.

Bugcrowd has one of the largest collections of reported vulnerability disclosures in the world. With that knowledge we’re building a data-driven, contextually aware user experience. Does the opportunity to be part of this revolution of cybersecurity workflows by driving the design and implementation of a knowledge graph sound exciting to you? You might be just the right person for the job!

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our growing international team. You’ll be part of a highly engaged and technical group that is well-versed in building enterprise-ready and extremely secure software systems. Our core values of “simple is strong, respect is king, build it like you own it and think like a hacker” should resonate with you. Furthermore, you should have:

  • At least five years of professional software engineering experience
  • At least two years of agile technical team leadership experience, taking on projects end-to-end from product definition to deployment in a distributed, secure and highly available production environment
  • Intimate familiarity with graph databases, knowledge graphs and ontologies

We use a lot of different technologies, so the more of the following list you know, the better. In no particular order: Kafka Streams, Postgres, CI/CD, SCRUM, RDF, SPARQL, AWS Neptune, AWS Sagemaker, Neo4j, Docker, Terraform, Jira, git, GitHub. Ruby/Rails, Kotlin, Go, Python and Javascript are languages you'll typically encounter here, so feeling comfortable with at least one of those will help a lot.

What you’ll be doing

  • Work closely with Product Management and Engineering leadership to drive the definition and implementation of the Bugcrowd Knowledge Graph
  • Lead a small team that is responsible for the delivery of this Knowledge Graph; this includes acting as SCRUM master, mentoring, planning, managing expectations, etc.
  • Document best practices, guidelines and how-tos on working with a graph database in a streaming service-oriented architecture
  • Ensure a great engineering experience by developing any tooling needed to work with the Knowledge Graph in our software development lifecycle
  • Drive future projects that build on the Knowledge Graph

We are a supportive & collaborative team who understand that reaching Bugcrowd’s potential depends on the happiness of the employee.

We are a globally distributed team; there are Bugcrowders around the world working together. There are 24 different flags currently hanging in our HQ representing our countries of origin. If you happen to be near one of our offices (when we go back), we’re dog-friendly and have plenty of in-office perks.

  • Competitive salary, bonus program and stock options
  • Flexible time off & monthly mental health days
  • Opportunities to attend & host relevant conferences & meetups
  • Exceptional medical, dental & vision coverage
  • Generous allowance to build the workstation that suits you
  • Monthly stipend to offset expenses related to working from home
  • 401k
