Job Description
Come join the Cloud Infrastructure Automation team and work with a talented group of developers building out solutions that make our infrastructure highly available, scalable, and fully automated.
What you get to do in this role:
As a Staff Software Engineer, focused on cloud infrastructure automation, you will have the opportunity to work on ServiceNow Platform and Tools, build solutions using workflows, orchestration, and developer tools in Private and Public Multi-Cloud infrastructure.
- Design and develop cloud automation to support the deployment and management of ServiceNow Platform/Products in our own infrastructure as well as Public Clouds
- Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation, and delivery of the high-quality product to our users.
- Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
- Work as a member of our developer team that scales our automation to meet the needs of the future.
- Interact with other members of the infrastructure organization and the ServiceNow development teams
- Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in professional software development, preferably in Cloud Infrastructure Environments
- Advanced programming skills with JavaScript and Java along with experience in object-oriented design
- Excellent technical design, problem-solving, debugging skills, and an aptitude for learning new technologies
- Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization
- Solid foundation in distributed systems with proven experience designing and architecting Systems Development of web-based database applications using MySQL or other relational databases
- Experience integrating software and services using common API techniques (REST, SOAP, XML, etc.)
- Experience working in Public Cloud environments such as Azure, AWS or GCP
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
- Experience / Interest to lead and manage a small software development team when needed
- Team player, attention to detail, and ability to work well and communicate with others
- BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Required in Office
A required in office work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office. This persona is required to work from their assigned workplace location 100% of the work week based on the business needs of their role.
Flexible
A flexible work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office and will work from their assigned workplace location roughly 3 days/week or less (generally around 40-60% of the work week). Flexible employees may choose to work the remaining working time from their workplace location or home. Flexible employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
Remote
A remote work persona is defined as an employee who performs their responsibilities exclusively outside of a ServiceNow workplace and is not contracted or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office, including those whose place of work (pursuant to their terms and conditions of employment) is their home. Remote employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
