Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) 

IEX Cloud is hiring a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to support our growing organization. We are looking for a veteran SRE with a proven track record of enabling organizations to deliver complex services and applications at scale through data and code.

What You'll Do:

Technical Contribution:

• As a senior member of the System Reliability Engineering team, you will participate in building code delivery mechanisms for our developers and ensure the health and stability of our platform both now and in the future
• Measure, measure, and measure to inform decision making around high priority areas of improvement and KPIs such as Time to Deliver, Mean Time to Recovery, etc.
• Contribute a strong point of view on common software engineering concerns, including how to improve user experience, how to manage technical debt, and how to improve performance
• Build tools that allow us to scale our systems, reduce our maintenance costs, and remove toil

Product Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate cross functionally with development, product management, marketing and customer success to 
  understand the user needs and requirements to succeed in our market
• Ability to translate broad company strategies into clear, specific objectives and actionable plans, building passion and buy-in across teams
• Collaborate with product and your team in each 6-week planning period to agree on priorities and scope of work that can be delivered to ensure we're working on the right things and with committed scope
• Participate in our product discovery programs to engage directly with users and buyers of our technology to understand unmet needs and potential opportunity space
• Inspire teammates to understand the problems we are trying to solve rather than just solutions

Delivery Management:

• Understand product requirements, design technical solutions, and help the team ship a great product internal and 
  external
• Deliver against business and product goals in each planning period
• Document scope in well-written epics and tasks in Jira
• Participate in code reviews and documenting the system
• Be proactive in improving team communication and efficiency 

You Are:

• Minimum 7+ years of professional experience, preferably through a company's transition from early-stage to midsized SaaS/PaaS 
  business
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g. product, development, support) to deliver successful product and business outcomes
• Experience with Linux/CentOS
• Proficiency with the following tools: Ansible, Docker, Python, Terraform, Jenkins, Redis, Prometheus, Elasticsearch. Grafana
• Culture fit (Think Big, Do Good/ Win Together/ Be Gritty/ Invent & Reinvent)
• Strong communication skills

• Experience automating infrastructure on a cloud provider (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Experience in managing centralized observability services to collect and surfacing metrics, logs, and traces
• Expertise in instrumenting applications and services to provide fundamental insights
• Experience building, testing, and debugging complex systems in a multi-team environment
• Experience explaining complex technical concepts to other teams
