Role Summary
Rivian is taking the charging experience to the next level by expanding electric mobility beyond early adopters. We are seeking Staff Mobile Application developers who desire the freedom to create elegant mobile apps from a blank canvas. You are not just passionate about making EV mainstream, but you have an urge to make experiences better. When you use a mobile app you always find 10 ways to improve it as a habit. You enjoy learning what makes things tick and enjoy working cross functionally with product, UX and engineering.

THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Design and develop Rivian mobile applications and their associated SDK for mobile devices on Apple’s iOS or Google Android
- Develop sample and demo applications making use of our technology
- Collaborate with the and product and the design teams to define app features.
- Ensure quality and performance of applications to specifications.
- Identify potential problems and resolve application bottlenecks.
- Fix application bugs before final release.
- Publish application on App Store.
- Develop or supervise development of shared components in ReactNative
- Maintain the code and atomization of the application.
- Design and implement application updates.
- Mentor more junior app developers.
- Grow your skills with continual learning, workshops, conferences and talks
THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience
- Proven iOS/Android App development experience with 5+ years experience
- Proficient in Swift or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with near field radio: BLE, NFC, UWB
- Knowledge of networking and API interaction using one or all of : REST, GraphQL , GRPC
- Excellent coding and proofreading skills.
- Top-notch teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to manage your workload with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with near field radio: BLE, NFC, UWB
- Knowledge of mobile design principles and application interface guidelines.
- Familiarity with the best in class Software development practices.
- Proficient in code versioning tools including Git, Bitbucket and others.
- Familiarity with push notifications, APIs and cloud messaging.
- Familiarity with Map based/POI/Geo applications
- Experience with product metrics, analytics, feature flags and A/B testing.
- Experience with continuous integration.
- Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to collaboratively work with and influence cross-functional
- Passionate about electric vehicles and hands on experience is a plus!
