YOUR MISSION

As a Staff Fullstack Engineer (Backend oriented) at MURAL you will help expand our users capabilities by developing services and features that power our cutting edge visual collaboration app. You are a technical leader with demonstrated experience guiding teams of developers to the optimal solution, working with the business to keep delivery times in mind. You know your way around Web Server technologies and Cloud Services. You are comfortable discussing the merits of Node.js and also what the next big JavaScript framework will be. Our belief is simple: generate wows by creating a platform users enjoy. 

In this role you will:

  • Provide technical leadership to your engineering team, including technical direction setting, coaching, architectural mentorship, and interviewing engineering candidates
  • Guide your team to deliver new features that provide an intuitive experience
  • Be an advocate for new technologies, methods, and approaches to solving problems and achieving product goals
  • Be a core part of our technical design process
  • Fully understand user requirements and pain points to help solve them
  • Identify, study, and improve performance bottlenecks
  • Analyze dynamic problems and recommend solutions (technical or otherwise)
  • Develop a culture of shipping great products
  • Develop a culture of data-driven experiences
  • Be accountable for and take ownership of your product

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have at least 2 years experience in a technical leadership position
  • You have a computer science degree or relevant professional experience
  • You have designed systems that are used in large scale production environments
  • You have experience mentoring junior to senior software engineers
  • You have relevant experience with real time or mission critical systems in any of the following: NodeJS, Go, Rust, Java, .NET or C++. Knowledge of JavaScript and Typescript are a strong plus.
  • You have experience designing and developing APIs via REST and JSON (bonus: using NodeJS)
  • You have experience with a variety of data stores and designing suitable data models
  • You can lead highly complex programming tasks and provide code reviews for your team
  • You can provide analysis of complex problems and recommend solutions
  • You have an evidence of good English, both written and verbal
  • You have a bias for action
