About the Role: 

As a member of the Digital Science team you will support the creation, build and deployment of commercial and developer tools. The role demonstrates deep understanding of concurrent software development, its effect on build management and releasing the builds across versions and environments.  This role will develop the infrastructure as code principles and guidelines across the engineering groups.

Responsibilities:  

  • Create and improve CI/CD tools and pipelines
  • Create software lifecycle process automation, deployment, patching and troubleshooting
  • Automating release and deployment process from development to production including building Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery capabilities using standard DevOps toolset
  • Ownership and managing the environments including installation and configuration of cloud infrastructure, platform and solutions and monitoring and maintaining the production systems
  • Documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics
  • Enabling the “DevOps” mindset among the teams developing software, through mentoring and training 
  • Drive increased maturity on the cloud DevOps capabilities including advanced CI/CD and metrics
  • Consulting with management on the operational requirements of software solutions.
  • Collaborating with developers on software requirements
  • Conforming to best practices in cybersecurity
  • Implement and socialize industry best practices
  • Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions.
  • Write technical documentation.
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software quality, performance and scalability.

Qualifications:  

  • Minimum eight years of experience in DevOps, or related operations roles
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Experience with: GCP, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, CI/CD Pipelines, Jenkins, Python 3, Maven, VMware,  Vault, and GitHub
  • Proficient with configuration management tools (e.g. Salt, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Proficient with cloud tools and infrastructure (AWS and GCP) and hierarchical storage management solutions
  • In-depth experience deploying and managing software, platform and infrastructure to public cloud environments (GCP, AWS)
  • Hands-on working experience with standard DevOps tools, build automation tools (Jenkins), issue tracking tools and source control systems (GitHub)
  • Proficient with CI/CD tools and scripting languages (Python strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency and Production implementation experience with Infrastructure as Code principles and tools like Terraform
  • Proficient with containerized systems
  • Proficient with Python and command line scripting
  • Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
  • Significant cloud security experience including Data Security, Data privacy and knowledge of cloud security tools, IAM, and Zero Trust models
  • Implementation knowledge and experience of DR, DLP and BCP for cloud systems
  • Healthcare, Life sciences or other regulated domain experience
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $136,000 to $200,000 per year. 

Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location, and may fall outside of the range shown.
