Position Summary:

  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management.
  • Test implemented designs. Build and test automation tools for cloud infrastructure provisioning.
  • Handle code deployments in all environments and promoting code.
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve. Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards.
  • Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects.
  • Manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Development tools with team.
  • Research industry standards and best practices with a focus on security, stability, testability, scalability, simplicity, and maintainability and propose opportunities for improvement when applicable.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining Dexcom's cloud (production and non-production) environments
  • Responsible for working with the Engineering team to establish standards and design, automate and maintain environments for Dexcom 's software products.
  • Improve system monitoring and alerting to improve incident time to resolution while decreasing false positives
  • Improve systems logging and benchmarking to fine tune application infrastructure and gain better insight into system issues and performance
  • Work to decrease hosting costs by using proactive and responsive auto-scaling algorithms and changes to technology solutions.
  • Update systems to support new development and technology initiatives
  • Incorporate new automation technology improvements
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotation to respond to incidents and/or requests for network performance as a level 2 engineer
  • Ability to communicate clearly with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-starter and experience in working with highly dynamic environment
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior teammates and encourage progress of those teammates.



Required Qualifications:

  • Comfortable working with cloud environments like AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Thorough understanding of different development methodologies like SDLC, Agile and RUP
  • Good knowledge of scripting tools like Perl, Ruby, Python
  • Ability to understand and write infrastructure code in one of Powershell, Ansible, Puppet
  • Strong Unix/Linux Administration , Scripting
  • Strong understanding of pipeline orchestration technologies like Jenkins, Atlassian Bamboo and harness
  • Familiarity with JIRA and other Atlassian suite of products
  • Experience in monitoring tools like DataDog and log analysis tool like Splunk
  • Experience with RDBMS (SQL Server Preferred)
  • Ability to think of infrastructure as code and the ability to create and maintain the infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible
  • Strong experience in languages like Java, .net and javascript frameworks
  • Passion and ability to script manual steps in a process that span multiple environments
  • Ability to think out of the box to complex and unique internal and customer facing issues
  • Ability to approach problems in a flexible and creative manner
  • Strong self-starter with a passion to learn new technologies



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working in a medical device industry with a FDA controlled environment
  • Google cloud certifications like Professional Cloud Architect, Cloud Network Engineer and Cloud Security Engineer
