YOUR MISSION

As a Front-End engineer in the Core Services team, you will grow our business by crafting and iterating MURAL’s core Front-End platform, architecture and technologies that power MURAL. It is Core Services team’s vision to provide solid architectural foundations and guidelines that will enable MURAL to scale and our engineering teams to innovate. We build solutions to enhance product scalability, product performance and enable team autonomy. Your contribution will directly impact every customer’s user experience and every MURAL developer’s development experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Improve Front-End's core architecture and implementation so other Front-End feature teams can build amazing features on top of them.
  • Build Front-End javascript solutions to improve performance, scalability and team autonomy.
  • Work closely with product manager, other engineering team architects and business stakeholders to identify and address technical debt, development pain points and areas of architectural improvements.
  • Guide other engineers and enforce MURAL's front-end architecture principles.
  • Be accountable for and take ownership of MURAL's technology: there is no "legacy" code, all of our code base is now yours.
  • Thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility, making informed decisions and tradeoffs and ensuring a great information flow.
  • Build a culture of shipping maintainable and high quality scalable solutions.

YOUR PROFILE

The top candidate will have the following skills:

  • BS in Computer Science or relevant discipline 
  • Minimum 5+ years Front-End development experience using modern web framework such as Angular and React, Express, Babel, Webpack, etc.
  • Experience with DevOps tooling and Cloud Platforms
  • Understanding of security principles, networking, communication protocols and modern architecture best-practices for highly available systems
  • Love for solving hard software engineering problems with a track record of success, having designed systems with an impact on tech problems at scale
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive deeply into highly complex tasks addressing current and future business or architectural challenges.
  • A keen eye and itch for continuous improvement (executed faster, using less resources) and the urge to do it
  • Experience designing and building solutions that require cross-team collaboration
  • An excellent command of English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently from a remote location

Ideally you have…

  • MS degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline 
  • Experience with Typescript
  • Experience with React version 16+
  • Experience with live collaboration or rendering web applications
  • Experience with Full Stack development building highly scalable backend APIs
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience as a tech lead/architect leading by example and mentoring engineering members on development best practices and designs
