The Cloud DevOps Engineer will leverage broad technical knowledge of public cloud offerings of providers such as Amazon Web Services, Azure or Google, with expertise in managing K8s and serverless environments to ensure Teradata solutions are designed and implemented to the highest availability, security standards and operational efficiency thus maintaining and enhancing customer trust.

The Cloud DevOps Engineer is a highly technical full stack engineer that will work not only on the automation and operation of public cloud resources and K8s infrastructure, but also develop and deploy micro-services and services utilizing them. The Cloud DevOps Engineer is responsible for developing and automating every aspect of the stack including but not limited to deployment pipelines, monitoring, security, service discovery and infrastructure.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Analyze requirements presented by Product Owner and design sustainable solutions to advance deployment of platform functionality.
  • Full stack ownership of solutions for the Teradata as-a-Service offering
  • Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines).
  • Manage cloud infrastructure as code
  • Troubleshoot performance and scalability issues in products and infrastructure
  • Apply cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) computing skills to deploy upgrades and fixes. AWS preferred.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve the company's engineering tools, systems and procedures, and data security.
  • Develop and maintain DevOps documentation.



Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience as a DevOps Engineer or equivalent software-engineering role.
  • 3+ years' experience architecting and managing large Kubernetes deployments
  • Experience in network, server, service mesh and application-status monitoring.
  • Experience in Docker and Kubernetes. EKS preferred.
  • Experience with HashiCorp stack - Terraform, Consul, Vault is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, Java, Scala, Rust, C++; and desire to learn new languages
  • Experience with DevOps tool chains such as Docker, Gitlab CI, Git
  • Experience with system monitoring tools such as DataDog, Prometheus etc.
  • GoLang knowledge is a plus
  • Possess a problem-solving attitude and a sense of humor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
