Job Description
The Cloud Operations Engineer will report to the Sr. Director, Cloud Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the Zscaler production data center services including servers, operating systems, storage, and supporting systems. You will be an instrumental part of the Zscaler Cloud Operations team responsible for the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, monitoring, and emergency response.
The Cloud Ops team is responsible for keeping the engines running at peak performance. On any given day, the Zscaler cloud processes tens of billions of transactions - scanning a petabyte of data - for 15 million users around the world. The transaction volume on the Zscaler cloud is growing significantly every quarter, yet the cloud's overall stability just continues to improve, and that is directly attributable to the Cloud Ops team's deep expertise and its dedication to reliability, availability, and scalability. Responsibilities/What You'll Do

• Ensure 24/7 Global availability of the Zscaler Security Cloud
• Respond to monitoring alerts and tickets created by our customer facing support team
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues from our monitoring tools and support including deep dive investigation
• Proactively identify cloud affecting events and implement a solution before it escalates to a problem
• Participate in an on-call rotation

Qualifications

• 10 plus years of experience of industry experience
• Exhibit strong working knowledge of Linux/UNIX and related applications
• Experience working in a 24/7 NOC environment for a cloud provider
• Scripting/programming in Bash, and Python.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, DNS, DHCP, NAT)
• Ability to think on your feet, be resourceful and solve interesting technical problems
• Constantly driving to improve, optimize and identify opportunities for process improvement

Nice to have:

• Advanced Linux/Unix system administration skills
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and architecture with an emphasis on SaaS environment
• Demonstrated skill in scripting to automate and simplify day to day tasks
• Knowledge of Ansible is a plus
