Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Chief Engineer based out of Salt Lake City, UT.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing technical projects (planning & execution) to include accountability for cost, schedule & performance.
  • Coordinates/leads multi-disciplined teams to solve complex technical problems (design and/or manufacturing related).
  • Manages the engineering change process for drawings, specifications and procedures (release authority).
  • Directly supports various Program Managers and customers as the technical focal point.


Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor's with 14 years of experience; Master's with 12 years of experience: PhD with 9 years of experience STEM related

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have an engineering background with experience in multiple disciplines.
  • Experience in project management tools and practices.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Must have the ability to motivate and lead technical teams.
  • Proficient in using MS Office applications
  • Must be highly self- motivated and able to plan and execute complex technical projects with little or no supervision.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Engineering or Management
  • PMP Certification
  • Knowledge and experience with earned value management.
  • Should be comfortable reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Should be fluent in the use of MS Office applications including MS Project.
  • Secret Clearance
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment


Salary Range: $134,700.00 - $202,100.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to basepay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO)for vacation and/orpersonal business.
