What you will learn and contribute to

As part of our team, you will:

  • SME on Nokia Core Network - more specifically on Subscriber, Signaling and Policy products - a member of the NPI/4LS team in West Region (including Americas region (NAM/LAT)). Be the technical expert in engineering for 5G Core, Cloud Native Products working with state-of-the-art technology.
  • Primary responsibility is to be the expert technical expert and PoC into R&D as member of 4LS/NPI team. Supporting both internal and external customers focusing primarely on North America Region customers, but also supporting global customer via follow the sun model.
  • Provides support, leadership and guidance during customer escalations and emergencies, keeping within the Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Perform troubleshooting and provide technical analyses and root cause of product issues, by working with logs, metrics, packet capture files and environmental variables (network, customer premises constraints)
  • Able to perform product installations following basic guidelines and create details steps instructions if necessary
  • Able to work with network/protocol simulator in a lab environment to re-create faulty scenarios or verify/create workaround/solutions when necessary
  • Engages and co-ordinates with other BG or Internal organizations inside Nokia when appropriate/required.
  • Be able to make adjustments (customization) of Helm Charts is a Plus.
  • Mentors and supports junior team members

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • Bachelor's of Eng. or equivalent required - Candidates with degrees in Computer Science, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering will be more relevant.
  • At least 7 years' experience in Software Development, Customer Support, or QA (e.g. System Test)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in troubleshooting complex problems
  • Experience in working on cloud environment (VNF/CNF)
  • Good understanding/familiar with Mobile Networks for 4G and 5G including IMS and Cloud Native principles and tools (k8s/helm)
  • Understanding of 3GPP/RFC defined protocols such as LDAP, HTTP/SOAP, SPML, SIP, Diameter and HTTP/2 (5G SA) are highly desirable
  • Experience with case handling via Salesforce and/or Jira
  • Experience in working with Java, Python, XML, JSON, K8S, Go, Kibana, Prometheus are a plus
  • Know how to instantiate/terminate and troubleshoot VNF/CNF in OpenStack, Vmware, AWS, GKE and adapt Helm Charts is a plus
  • Knowledge of Nokia CSD, EIR, MNP, AAA or other SSP supported products is a plus
  • Highly developed analytical and debugging skills with proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and under time constraints while keeping attention to details is desirable
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple issues, with quickly changing priorities
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycles based on AGILE/SAFE.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English.
  • Effective and supportive team player
