Network Job Description - Routing , Switching, Security, F5

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  1. Should have strong understanding in any one of the following infrastructure areas (Datacenter, Campus LAN-WIFI, IP services or remote access services.)
  2. Understanding of core Network technologies (Routing, Switching, Firewalls, etc.)
  3. Experience troubleshooting complex network issues and designing solutions to simplify and better instrument solutions
  4. Routing/Switching: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MST, PVST, L2 switching
  5. Broad technical knowledge of the R&S, Data center and its components: Applications, Network, Server, and projects surrounding their planning, design, implementation, operation, and optimization.
  6. Cisco Data Center products (Nexus 9000, Nexus 3000, Nexus 7000/5000, Cisco ACI), Catalyst 1K/2K/3K/4K/6K and 9K - Cisco ASR 9K (IOS XR) Cisco ASR 1K (IOS/IOS XE)
  7. Possess a clear understanding of capacity planning in various scenarios. Knowledge of Cisco routing/switching including Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, XR and NX-OS
  8. Knowledge on various DC Architecture (DC-DR, Active-Active DC etc.)
  9. Having hands-on experiences with below technologies is added advantage


    1. Palo Alto Networks firewall PAN 500, PA-5220, PA-5060. PA-3060, PA-850, PA-3020, PA-5250, 5220,5280,505
    2. Symantec ProxySG S200/S400/S500 Series
    3. Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls
    4. Cisco Firepower 4100 Series NGFW Appliances


  1. Experience with L4-L7- load balancing, firewalls, etc. will be an advantage.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communications skills: ability to communicate technology strategy and architecture approach to engineers, executives, and customers.


Responsibilities:

  1. Define and refine network architecture standards that address the requirements to support customers' requirements.
  2. Partner with service providers and network hardware/software vendors to define solution configurations that leverage latest capabilities and provide stable and reliable operations.
  3. Define and implement service standards and practices that align IT services with the needs of the business. Define and monitor adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and industry best practices.
  4. Create, maintain, implement, and test appropriate contingency plans.
  5. Collaborate with other network architects to provide integrated network solutions that incorporate wireless and wired access, data center and hybrid cloud connectivity, remote access, and network security.
  6. Collaborate with other squads on services and applications integration and optimization of network infrastructure
  7. Troubleshoot complex network performance issues with other network engineers to identify root cause and recommend solutions.
  8. Coach and mentor team members, peers, and clients on the execution of processes and procedures.
