Department OverviewSystems Engineers on the VestaNXT team are expected to have strong and detailed knowledge of all components of the platform and how they fit together to form a complete system. This knowledge will include both theoretical and operational aspects of system components. Troubleshooting and critical thinking skills are a must. Creative thinking is also required to solve problems in an often highly constrained environment. The ideal candidate will have very strong knowledge in a few areas with working knowledge of all areas listed.
Job Description
We are seeking a smart, self-motivated, well-rounded system engineer for the development of new virtualization and Linux platform solutions that are a foundation of ECH VestaNXT product solutions. Ideal candidates must excel at solving problems and seeking to improve processes in innovative ways. To be successful in this role you must value teamwork and communication as well as work closely with other engineers in small, dynamic, Agile teams.
Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science, IT, (or equivalent degree)
7+ years of hands-on experience with Linux systems administration (preferably RedHat Enterprise Linux)
Practical knowledge of Bash
Good understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi)
Familiarity with infrastructure concepts and administration (Linux, DNS, Network, Firewalls, and Security)
Knowledge of AWS or Azure services - such as EC2, ELB, S3, Route 53, RDS, Lambda, with an interest in mastering them
Working Knowledge of SDLC/Agile practices - CI/CD pipeline, automated testing, code reviews
Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt, train others
Versatility and ability to be a catalyst for culture change
Collaborate designs with team members in order to find the solution that best fits the requirements
Consult with customers and co-workers in a professional manner
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s or associate degree in computer science, IT, or a related field
10 years experience in IT risk management and information security
