Senior Solutions Engineer - Education Vertical
About the Team
The Solutions Engineering EDU team at Zoom is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering technical solutions that meet the specific needs and requirements of educational institutions and public sector organizations. We work in close collaboration with the sales and Customer Success teams to understand the challenges and requirements our customers face and then develop solutions to address those needs.
About The Role
Zoom is seeking a Sr. Solutions Engineer to join our Public Sector Solutions Engineering org, focused on Higher Education customers. You will leverage knowledge of customer business drivers to adopt the Zoom Communications platform, and be a trusted advisor in delivering happiness to our customers.
As a technical sales professional, you will translate the technical needs of our customers into product development recommendations, test customer environments, and drive customer demand/features internally within Zoom.
Responsibilities:

  • Ability to discuss Zoom Architecture and application to Customer Environments
  • Technical understanding of the Zoom Platform with focus areas in the Education Space
  • Conduct Zoom Platform demos, as well as Plan / Lead proof of concepts for prospective Zoom customers
  • Understand and articulate Zoom's architectural advantages to our customers, and support the Account Executive when it comes to proposing and designing solutions to our customers' challenges.
  • Solution and Architectural Sales
  • RFQ/RFP response/preparation
  • Work cross-functionally with Customer Success, Product, Technical Architects, and Distinguished Architects to ensure the successful delivery of POCs and solutions.
  • Optional travel to customer locations


About You
Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of technical experience in Collaboration technologies
  • 5+ years in a customer-facing technical sales role
  • BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent experience
  • SaaS Collaboration sales experience i.e. web conferencing, cloud voice, UCaaS
  • In-depth knowledge of "traditional" voice communications systems and applications
  • Experience creating, presenting, and documenting technical solutions
  • Ability to present topics in a clear and concise manner to many levels of technical skill sets and audience sizes
  • Intermediate level solution sales ability


Preferred Qualifications:

  • End-to-end IT systems knowledge
  • Ability to apply IT Systems knowledge to customer solution design
  • Formulate and communicate a technical solution / vision
  • Understand Zoom partner and ecosystem partners, products and applications
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft and application based competition is preferred. (Microsoft, Amazon, RingCentral, 8x8, Cisco, etc)
  • IP Networking (TCP/IP, DNS)
  • Understanding of SIP (Trunking, PBX and Telephony gateways)
  • Knowledge of security protocols such as OAuth, RESTful APIs, and experience working with SSO tools and platforms such as Okta, Ping Identity, or Azure Active Directory
  • Knowledge of LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) tool integration and familiarity with common Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle and Schoology


Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$135,400.00
Maximum:
$270,700.00
In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
