Job Summary:
Serves as a solutions expert , at the business unit level developing the most advanced end-to-end solution architecture for highly complex and significant initiatives in partnership with key business and IT stakeholders. Exposes current state architecture and identifies options for future state architecture. Works closely with business and IT stakeholders creating solutions that balance competing interests and concerns. Develops plans for and facilitates the migration from current to selected future state by providing technical leadership to multiple initiatives. Mentors those in less senior positions.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Architect and technical lead for a unified, hybrid-cloud data platform supporting analytical, data science and machine learning use cases
  • Collaborate with data product owners, domain architects, data architects, data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts to identify and define required data structures, formats, pipelines, metadata, and workload orchestration capabilities; define strategy and roadmap for capability enablement
  • Address aspects such as data privacy & security, data ingestion & processing, data storage & compute, analytical & operational consumption, data modeling, data virtualization, self-service data preparation & analytics, machine learning enablement, and API integrations
  • Keep abreast of developments and trends and demonstrate thought leadership in big data, analytics, machine learning, and cloud technologies
  • Guide data platform infrastructure engineering team on solution designs; mentor less-experienced team members
  • Participate in conceptualizing, prioritizing, and creating strategies for Data strategy. Consult with business, solution, data, and enterprise architects to determine solution architecture
  • Resolve problems with Data platform and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
  • Participate in development of documentation, technical reports, user analytics, and application performance monitoring metrics


Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus:

  • Experience with enterprise architecture patterns; microservices, SOA, evolutionary architecture
  • Experience architecting solutions for extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of traditional and non-traditional sources such as structured, unstructured, and semi-structured using SQL, NoSQL and data pipelines for real-time, streaming, batch and on-demand workloads
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into an easy-to-understand, non-technical language in order to facilitate, communicate and interact with executives and business stakeholders
  • Understanding of modern data warehousing landscape including MPP, Data Lakes and Hadoopa
  • Data pipeline orchestration (e.g. Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory)
  • Big Data processing and data integration frameworks (e.g. Apache Spark)
  • Data science & machine learning frameworks and tooling (e.g. Jupyter, Databricks)
  • Experience with Master Data Management, Data Quality practices, and tools (e.g. Informatica)
  • Experience with cloud core (compute, storage, networking) and cloud-based Big Data and analytical services
  • Experience in DevSecOps practices (CI/CD, automated testing, etc.), and motivation to apply them to the data and analytics domain; tooling (e.g. GitLab, Azure DevOps)
  • Certified Microsoft Azure Solution Architect


Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information Systems, business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Five (5) years work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
Domicile: This position will be domiciled in Plano, TX (Dallas area).
Remote Work: The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.
Relocation: Relocation assistance may be available based on business need.
