Your New Role...
Warner Bros. Discovery's DTC technology and product organization sits at the intersection of tech, entertainment, and everyday utility. We are continuously leveraging new technology to build immersive and interactive viewing experiences. Our platform covers everything from search, catalog, and video transcoding, to personalization, global subscriptions, and more. We are committed to delivering quality user experiences, ranging from video streaming to applications across connected TV, mobile, web and consoles. As a pure tech organization, we are essential to Warner Bros. Discovery's continued growth, building world-class products from the ground-up for our iconic brands like HBO Max, Discovery Channel, CNN, Food Network, HGTV, Eurosport, MotorTrend, and many more.
We are looking for a highly skilled individual who takes pride in bringing high-quality code quickly to market, enjoys learning and applying new technologies, and thrives in a dynamic engineering-oriented work environment.
You will work with different encoding solutions and develop diverse solutions to interact and manage these systems, integrating them into our workflows using the latest technologies.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Work with a team of highly motivated engineers to effectively implement solutions and delivery production quality applications that are highly supportable and maintainable
- Overall responsibility for developing highly scalable code.
- Partner with lead engineers to understand business and technical requirements and implement the workflows.
Qualifications and Experience...
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a strong knowledge of Python.
- Working knowledge of implementing scalable, distributed, and highly available systems on AWS.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to interact with all levels of technical and non-technical personnel
- Experience designing and operating media workflow systems, including video encoding/transcoding and file movement.
- Experience with our current technology stack is a plus: SDVI Rally, Aspera, Telestream, Digital Rapids, Amberfin, Baton, FFMPEG, etc.
- Experience with Mongo DB, JSON.
- Skills with Microsoft Server and Linux.
- Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring and analytics.
- Working knowledge of implementing scalable, distributed, and highly available systems on AWS.
- Hands-on experience in implementing microservices, RESTful APIs, and event driven architectures.
- Deep knowledge of domain-driven design and design patterns
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and tools such as Jenkins
- Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent technical experience
