We are looking for talented software engineers to join our Flight Training teams, working with other engineering disciplines to help develop many best-in-class products and solutions. Whether it is contributing to the success on one of our Flight Simulation systems for our International customers or helping to evolve our product baselines with latest technologies, we have a variety of challenging opportunities that support innovation and career growth.

The senior software engineer will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (design, development, and test), working in a fast-paced agile environment. The engineer will leverage our software engineering processes and procedures while performing their respective software engineering and verification activities. The engineer will understand and adhere to program cost and schedule targets, make targeted modifications to existing software baselines as well as develop new components and subsystems as requirements dictate.

The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking. Positions are located in East Orlando, FL at the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Lake Underhill Facility. Keeping up-to-date on emerging technologies and tools will be encouraged.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's level degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related technical field and 5+ years of professional experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with at least one modern software language such as C++, C, C# and/or Java
- Willingness to travel, if required
- Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (requires US Citizenship)
Desired Skills:
Individuals considered for this position should have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Software development in C++/C on a Linux and/or Windows operating system
- Experience with any of the following: Flight Simulation, Weapons or Weapon simulation, Avionics
- Relevant experience with agile methodologies
- Use of Atlassian tool suite (JIRA/Confluence/Bitbucket)

Additional desired capabilities include:
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams (HW, SE, I&T)
- Docker, Ansible, GitLab, AWS, Kubernetes, Software Factory, Virtualization (VMWare)
- Working knowledge of Model Based Engineering (MBE), DOORs, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong written and verbal communication

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret
