This role requires a proactive attitude and critical thinking to originate and drive innovation; modernize, enhance, and reimagine aging platforms to support current and future business needs
Support existing applications related to Commercial recovery. C#, SQL, Angular. Troubleshooting and new feature development. Willing to support other applications and teams as well as learn new technical skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute code, tests, automation, application design and architecture to an agile team of engineers working across the application stack and portfolio
  • Collaborate with scrum team in refining user stories and developing acceptance criteria to achieve business outcomes
  • Solve technical problems to discover solutions at any level of the stack backend, frontend, database, and infrastructure
  • Create an accountability framework and actions with engineering to drive architecture and design consistency during platform modernization and data migration
  • Perform code reviews and manage deployments
  • Engage in technical discussions as a subject matter expert, have a point of view to offer and have strategic influence with the product, business stakeholders and other engineering teams to design and develop new product offerings and experiences
  • Partner with product owners, designers, and business stakeholders to build teams roadmaps and establish goals for the teams based on strategic insights
  • Help the teams improve efficiency, quality, and speed of their development process
  • Design reusable components, frameworks, and libraries

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of coding experience with one or more of the follow languages Java, C#, C/C++, JavaScript/TypeScript Go, Python or with a willingness and ability to learn new ones
  • Experience working with two or more of the following: continuous integration / continuous delivery tools, REST API development, serverless architecture, containerization, IaC, application observability and/or messaging / stream architecture
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals: unit testing, code reviews, Agile and DevOps
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences (being an influencer and leader)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Development experience in .NET Core
  • Experience with web UI technologies (Angular)
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
  • Experience running applications in Kubernetes
  • Experience developing applications on Relational DBMSs with a preference towards MS SQL Server
  • Experience with Kafka

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
