About the role:
Partners with stakeholders and leads team efforts to build and maintain backend services and solutions to support user-facing products, downstream services, or infrastructure tools and platforms used across Uber.
About the Team:
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Business Applications team, you will be responsible for leading engineers to implement scalable Salesforce related technical solutions. These solutions will have a significant impact on Uber's results in areas of user growth, safety and global expansion. Senior Software Engineers will tackle meaningful technical problems for Uber Eats.
What the You Will Do

  • Tackle business issues through Salesforce development and standard processes
  • Improve and build solutions to address architectural gaps or technical debt
  • Lead engineers; Drive creation of standards, tools and methodologies for team
  • Propose best technologies for data processing and data framework
  • Play an active role in positively influencing the design direction
  • Check in and deploy code and configurations; participate in release management
  • Participate in story planning, standups and retrospective
  • Complete with a team of solution architects, program managers and engineers
  • Produce documentation and tutorials that enable other teams


Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 3-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 2-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go)
  • Note the 2-years total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The years of specialized experience are not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated.


Technical skills:
Preferred:

  • Minimum of 2+ years experience as a team lead for 3 or more engineers
  • Minimum of 7+ years of Salesforce application development experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years with at least 1 of the following languages: Java, Go, Python
  • Expert in Lightning, Apex, VisualForce, SOQL/SOSL, and Javascript
  • Experienced with Salesforce SOAP API, REST API, and BULK API
  • Experienced with Web UI frameworks in Visualforce pages or Lightning components.
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Excellent multi-functional customer management
  • Passion for technology, industry research and enjoys solving business problems
  • Familiar with Salesforce Administration
  • Product engineering
  • Scalability engineering
  • Distributed systems
