Platform and API Software Engineers maintain and extend the Sage Intacct framework that enables third party developers to create new, integrated applications within the Sage Intacct ecosystem. The Sr. Software Engineer will understand and communicate the implications of design decisions and will be responsible for highlighting important or difficult decisions, ensuring that the trade-offs are considered. The Sr. Software Engineer will work closely with the Architects and lead engineers in the team to plan and design the subsystems.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Product Management to understand the feature requirements and trade-offs
• Work in agile teams to design and implement scalable and repeatable solutions
• Create functional specifications and designs, and present recommendations to the Architects and leads
• Work with QA to ensure the quality of the features, including the creation and maintenance of test cases

Requirements:

• 6+ years software engineering development experience
• Experience developing application framework and APIs
• Experience developing Internet applications
• Hands-on coding expertise in languages such as Java or PHP
• Experience in SOAP XML and REST API is desired
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of database/data modeling concepts, experience with Oracle is a plus
• Strong analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
• History of delivering high-quality, well-designed software products
• Experience in handling customer escalations in a timely manner
• Financial/Accounting application experience a plus
• Familiarity with CI tools (Jenkins)
• Strong communication skills
