A Typical Day
The Pennymac technology team is looking for a technical skilled, highly motivated, and self-driven Senior Software Engineer to be part of our Production Loan Processing initiatives. You'll be joining other driven technologists trying to solve some of the industry's most difficult issues. The team that you would be part of works closely with our product and business partners to apply cloud based technology solutions, in transforming the customer loan experience.
Responsibilities:

• Build efficient and reusable frameworks, applications, and services using Node.js, Python, GraphQL, and AWS Serverless.
• Lead and participate in code reviews.
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end to end tests.

What You'll Bring
Required Skills:

• Modern JavaScript frameworks and technologies. (NodeJS, Jest, Cucumber)
• Microservices built using AWS Native Serverless stack. (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, and DynamoDB)
• Experience with GraphQL, REST APIs, and microservice and event driven architectures.
• Experience building out modern CI/CD pipelines using AWS CDK and GitLab CI.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Ability to troubleshoot, research, and work through complex problems.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and to present data concisely.
• Must be attentive to detail, flexible, and able to work concurrently on multiple initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

• FinTech or Mortgage Domain knowledge.
• Experience with custom event-based Workflow/Orchestration systems.
• Python experience.
• Experience with feature flags and service/api versioning.
• Experience in Agile/SCRUM using Jira.

Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in software development.
• 5+ years of NodeJS experience.
• 3+ years of AWS experience.

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:

• Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
• Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
• Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role

Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
