Job Description As a Software Engineer, you will work with architecture and design leads across the Digital organization and broader JPMC organization on business and technical architecture of the platform, as well as helping to move the organization forward by leveraging your experience building and running applications at scale in the cloud. This will involve conducting hands on POCs to prove concepts/products, migration to internal/external clouds, and migration to Micro-services. We provide abstraction on top of Spring, MQ, Kafka, REST, SOAP, Cassandra, Pivotal Gemfire, Database drivers, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, Kubernetes and many other third party API's. It handles middleware traffic from web and mobile channels of chase.com/JPMorgan.com, iOS, Android native apps and other devices available in market. It supports billions of transactions throughout the day with low latency.
As a part of team you will learn best design practices for an enterprise level large scale application. We are the catalyst for modernization, private and public cloud journey for our consumers. You will ace in Java/J2EE, design patterns, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes on top of above listed technologies and many more. You will be able see the impact you make to Chase customers when you logon through either of the platforms listed above.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of Java/J2EE application development experience.
• Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
• Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages Java, J2EE server technologies including XML, JMS, and JAX-WS
• Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
• Experience in Core Java including Java 8 and above as well as experience with annotation, enum, collections, generics, multithreading, concurrency, regular expressions, etc.
• Experience performing server-side Java programming in a WebSphere/Tomcat environment
• Experience with Spring including knowledge of building Soap/RESTful Web Services, MVC, and Spring Boot
• Experience with IDE (Integrated Development Environment), including using Eclipse/IntelliJ for development and local testing/debugging and experience Running/debugging an application locally on a Tomcat instance
• Experience with Build and Integration Tools, including knowledge of Jenkins, Maven, Git and BitBucket
• Knowledge of Web Security is a plus including Cross Site Scripting and HTTP injection
• Expert level experience designing and building REST and SOAP web services using Java @ internet scale
• Knowledge on Cloud computing, AWS, Casandra, Kafka, Spark would be highly desired
• Strong understanding of domain driven design, Micro-services patterns and architectures and strong experience building and running micro services preferably in the Cloud
• Experience implementing frameworks/tools like Netflix OSS, Spring Security, Spring Batch, Spring Web Services.
• Create prototypes for next generation technologies, collaborate with all the stakeholders to craft and implement your technical vision.
• Educate, guide, mentor and assist application teams for adapting towards best industry practices, anti-patterns and sustainable solutions considering all aspects of stability, performance, risk, cyber security and legal compliance.
• Demonstrated experience building and running applications at scale in the cloud preferred
• Experience in software engineering to include implementation of highly scalable systems, release management, software configuration, design, development and implementation preferred
