About the role:
Engages with stakeholders across teams to lead the development and maintenance of backend services and solutions to support user-facing products, downstream services, or infrastructure tools and platforms used across Uber.
About the Team:
Knowledge and Decision Platform group is responsible for building online and offline intelligence and decision making services. The platform utilizes cutting-edge Machine Learning orchestration with policy and rule enforcement to make informed decisions for Uber. This platform handles all the Risk and Safety decisions made during the life cycle of an Uber user.
The Risk Feature Engineering platform works on software and services to provide easy to onboard, scalable feature engineering solutions for batch, streaming and real time features for ML rules and models for RIsk & Safety teams. Basic Qualifications
• At least five (5) years of software engineering experience• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics, or related field• Experience in working on large-scale distributed systems• Experience with Data-driven architecture and systems design• Experience with Java/Go/Python• Design and development of backend system/service APIs that scales to million of users.• Streaming Platform Samza/Flink and building real-time streaming features• Good Problem Solving skills. Taking on challenge problem and drive solution• Experience shipping scalable, efficient, reliable, resilient code that reaches millions of users• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with evolving requirements• Customer obsession and user first mindset• Collaborate on projects and working efficiently as part of a team• Proven technical leadership in driving large system architecture design and contribute to long term technical vision
Preferred Qualifications:
• Contribute to the wider software community through open source• Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science or related Field. • Previous experience with Risk, Fraud Detection and Machine Learning

For Colorado-based roles: The salary/hourly rate range for this role is $172,125 per year - $191,250 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award, commissions, & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
