Role Summary
Magna New Mobility Team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join the Advanced Product Development group in Troy, Michigan. Must be a passionate all-rounder equally capable of developing and integrating new software controls solutions within battery and charging systems.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with minimal supervision to meet defined program objectives and milestones in an environment where they will be given the freedom to innovate, explore new methods and solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the BMS Work across multiple vehicle and charging system domains.
• Responsible for the design, development, and execution of Battery Management System (BMS) software and controls applications in both 48V and high-voltage battery systems
• Responsible for specifying, implementing, and validating BMS software related to electric battery and charging systems
• Author BMS software requirements and specification document
• Work with Battery Systems and supplier teams to develop a functional design and implementation of battery management system software features
• Implement and validate functional requirements including simulation on Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) simulators and real battery systems

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• BS/MS in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering / Computer Science
• 7-9 years in developing and integrating software solutions with electric vehicles OEM or Tier 1.
• Experience with BMS systems in battery & vehicle application.

Special Knowledge / Skills

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects; requires good time management and organizational skills to meet stringent deadlines.
• Experience in function development - Base knowledge of automotive software development practices.
• Deep experience of Model Based Design (MBD); Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, dSpace TargetLink and RT environments with associated tool chains.
• Building, compiling, and flashing software to controllers.
• Experience of CAN, CANFD, Ethernet, LIN and other communication protocols.
• Experience of vehicle network simulation and analysis.
• Experience of Vector tools including CANalyzer, CANape, CANdb++.
• Software programming in C/C++, Python.
• Issues management - JIRA, Agile, Scrum
• Configuration Management / Repository - software release management, including data/parameter dictionary,
• Knowledge with telematics connectivity solutions.
• Experience in ADAS / AD environment
• Project experience in Functional Safety ISO 26262 / ASPICE environment
