Sr. Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Remote

As a SRE, you will lead day-to-day work to acquire, analyze, combine, synthesize, and structure data with clear definitions and sources for analytical consumption! This resource will collaborate with data consumers to identify meaningful datasets for analytical consumption. Our team supports multiple programs within Data Science & Analytics here at Northwestern.
Lead day-to-day development of data products using continuous deployment and integration practices...
Apply engineering standard methodologies in order to analyze, design, develop, deploy and support data analytics products...
Participate in agile story authoring, sizing, and demo sessions for product features...
Leading code reviews, providing feedback to the team and mentoring junior engineers are also part of this role!
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree & 4-5 years of professional experience
- At least 4 years experience in data acquisition, cleansing, feature engineering, debugging and software documentation, using modern languages and practices
- Experience using continuous integration and deployment concepts
- 3+ years of cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- 3 or more years of Kubernetes and container experience
- Strong programming and scripting skills
- Experience working in data lake environments & developing solutions using agile methods
- Understanding and awareness of regulations around the use of PII data.
- Ability to provide thought leadership throughout the local scrum team
- Ability to explain technical solutions to technical teams and non-technical teams
- Outstanding analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work autonomously
- See the big picture with ability to incorporate business understanding into design and approach to achieve current value and prepare for future benefit.
Preferred:
- Experience with analytics and data science applications
- Experience with machine learning systems & in the financial and/or insurance industry
