Job Summary
The National Systems Group serves as the technical adviser to the National Reconnaissance Office and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.
In this opportunity you will serve as Sr. Project Engineer or Project Engineer to act as a technical advisor championing mission assurance activities for the space vehicle power subsystem and electrical design integration for Dir-H major system acquisitions in the Electronic Programs Division.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitoring spacecraft integration and test operations related to the electrical power subsystem, including cable and harnesses
- Providing technical oversight during design reviews, prioritizing technical excellence while balancing programmatic constraints
- Coordinating matrix engineering support to independently identify and assess technical risks associated with the power subsystem and electrical design integration
- Developing risk work-off plans to address issues encountered during power subsystem Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) activities
- Interacting collaboratively with the customer and a wide variety of other support and development contractors who are associated with the program.
- Regularly communicating issue status and resolution activities with east coast based customers
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for Project Engineer role:
- Bachelor’s degree in a electrical engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 8 years engineering experience
- Knowledge of power subsystem and electrical system hardware requirements definition, design, and verification
- Ability to lead matrix engineering support teams to close complex trades and issues
- Familiarity with satellite Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T)
- This position requires the a current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
What You Need to be Successful

How You Can Stand Out

- Advanced degree in relevant engineering, mathematics or science field
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for space vehicle assembly, as well as functional, performance and environmental testing
- Strong communication skills and be able to effectively coordinate exchanges between technical staff and the customer and management staff
