Summary

The Sr. Product Quality Engineer is part of a team whose role is vital to meeting the company's key priorities and strategic goals to ensure the success of the business. The Sr. PQE will provide guidance, training, and growth development of the team as well as technical support for all internal stakeholders and external stakeholders such as Regulators, Test Labs, and customers. The Sr. PQE will be collaborating with stakeholders to improve on the delivery of quality products and supporting the Product Compliance Submissions team with technical guidance as well as creating quality software packages for their submissions.

What You'll Do

- Ability to work independently and take initiative as a member of a dynamic and fast-moving team.- Remain current on technical development plans, platforms, cabinets, tools, and techniques.- Apply technical/professional expertise to facilitate the on-schedule delivery of high-quality work products.- Promote the established processes across the team as well as seeking opportunities to streamline, improve and enhance on it through experience and knowledge of best practices.- Use tools such as Visual Studio, Git, Jira, PowerBi and Confluence to enhance visibility, collaboration, and management of your work.- Quickly identify and define the scope/requirements, assess budget/resource needs, and set expectations Product Compliance Submissions Team Support:- Must deliver submission packages within 5 days turnaround time.- Submission package completion and responsibilities consist of the following:Ø Perform software analysis to develop a plan to complete submission efficiently.Ø Compile and sign source code to create signed software binary images.Ø Review code and math calculations sheet to verify software meets regulatory RTP (Return To Player) percentages and volatility. Ø Review game submission help screens to ensure accuracy and meets regulatory requirements.Ø Run signature calculations for different algorithms such as Gat 3.5 and Sha1 and ensure they are accurately documented.Ø Create CSV files and concatenated bin imagesØ Review product documentation to ensure its accuracy and be able to effectively communicate to key stake holders any inaccuracies.Ø Ensuring that all required associated software is accounted for, packaged, and submitted along with submission.Ø Analyse ECOs and Master Item Parts and be able to identify any inconsistency and/or missing entries.Ø Creation of emulation drives to support reel strip and combination testing of game software.Ø Boot game software on compatible cabinet in production environment to ensure game software was compiled, built, and signed correctly. Ø Continue to drive down “withdraw activities” by performing test case analysis of game software against commonly known regulatory standards and quality standards.Ø Able to effectively communicate any issues and/or bugs found within game software or documentation to the Software Integration and Test, management, and development teams to resolve such issues and/or bugs. Key User and Maintenance of Copy Protecting Site:- Must have strong understanding of software/hardware compatibility to ensure that only compatible game software is created and released to Integration Centres (IC).- Must ensure that only approved/certified software components have been released to the correct IC.- Must ensure any obsolete/revoked software is removed from Copy Protection Site.- Must request game software regression testing prior to gameset creation and release to IC.- Own (along with team) all aspect of the application, including quality, performance testing, and production support. Technical Support for External Stakeholder:- Apply strong analytical skills to determine root cause of issues and determine the best course of action to resolve them.Ø This includes booting up the software and running thru test cases.Ø Connecting EGM to SAS or G2S protocol.Ø Modifying software source code to trigger certain scenarios.- Evaluate the severity of field issues that come into the inbox to determine which issues need quicker response time. Ø Some field issues reported can cause down time of our game products in the field if not responded to on time. - Ensure all questions or queries from regulators are answered within a timely manner.Ø Software approval/certification delays can occur if responses are delayed. Technical Support for Internal Stakeholder:- Determine root cause of production line issues and provide technical support to resolve issues quickly as issues reported by production line team means shipment of product could be delayed if response time is delayed.- Evaluate configuration issues reported on ERP Master Data Management and Configuration Management ticketing system. Determine root cause and assist ERP/COE and Configuration Management team with resolving reported issues.- Responsible for providing software for the following:Ø Master software copies for integration centreØ Tradeshows and showrooms§ Global Gaming Expo is one of the industry’s largest tradeshows. Must be able to apply project management skills to tackle your every day-to-day task and provide software for this tradeshow simultaneously.Ø Cabinet/Hardware/Internal Stakeholder testing Responsible for any other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience in Software Quality Assurance.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years experience in Quality Assurance testing in a client/server environment, or its equivalent.
  • Experience in executing test cases and test scripts from Functional Specifications or Business Rules.
  • Experienced with slot machines, accounting systems, peripherals, progressive controls and associated hardware, software, and firmware.
  • Test automation techniques, implementation, and tools expertise. Examples include proprietary slot OS tools/routines, and emulation tools such as GDB and MK7eye.
  • Proficient in using Linux, burning various media types, and familiar with reading/understanding C++.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with data query and analysis techniques
  • Must be a team player, able to work independently with minimal supervision and work under tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
