Sr. Product Engineer - Advanced Design Engineering

JOB OVERVIEW
As a key member of Callaway's Advanced Design Engineering (ADE) team this role allows for an innovative, challenging, and open minded approach to golf club materials. In this role you will interface with multiple internal (Engineering, Industrial Design, and R&D) and external (Suppliers) groups as you work to evaluate and help implement these new materials and processes. This role requires a high amount of technical thought and independent work while remaining collaborative with the overall ADE team.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will
• Evaluate and implement new materials, fabrication methods, and processes
• Evaluate external concepts and industries to bring outside technology to golf clubs • Submit patent applications to internal legal department to protect Intellectual Property
• Understand cost and material availability to determine production viability
• Lead technical meetings and report project status
• Act as a technical liaison to production engineering groups
• Work with suppliers in an independent mode to solve technical problems
• Plan, procure, test, and evaluate physical material prototypes and samples
• Understand program timelines and work diligently to deliver projects on-time
• Travel (as required) to supply base, both domestic and international
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
• BS in engineering, materials, or relevant technical major or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience required
• Metal/Alloy casting and/or forging experience required
• Knowledge of material heat treatment processes
• Experience bonding and welding of metals and other materials preferred
• Experience with injection and compression molding preferred
• Knowledge of composite layup, molding, and finishing helpful
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Knowledge of Siemens Team Center Engineering helpful
• Knowledge and demonstrated application of quality methods and tools (includes but
not limited to 6 Sigma, FMEA, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Controls)
• Understanding and interest in the game of golf is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others• Strong written and verbal communication skills
