This position will provide RMD DT High Performance Computing support in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment. This candidate will also be managing Windows Server internals, and knowledge of Linux System Administration to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.

Develop and implement new technologies based upon industry best practices.

Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems at an advanced complexity to include the integration and maintenance of high-performance computing hardware, software, and operating systems (OS).

Understanding of software tools, automated scripts, batch schedulers, hardware, and system-level troubleshooting, to lead and support the engineering community.

Perform OS tuning to maximize system performance on High Performance Computing systems.

Work across RMD DT functions to standardize processes and procedures.

Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements.

Provide documentation and training on advanced RMD DT HPC processes and procedures.

Be a mentor to junior and senior team members.

Qualifications You Must Have: • Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering, Math or STEM discipline and 8 years of experience or a master's degree in engineering, IT Math or a directly related STEM discipline and 5 years of direct experience

Must be able to obtain a final Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance• Ability to obtain required Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification) within 6 months of hire date• Experience in Windows and or Linux Server Environments including directory services management, and system hardening• Minimum 8 years' experience maintaining a medium to large Microsoft Windows Server environment• Experience with of OS internals, file system structures, and machine architectures• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux• Knowledge of data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions• Experience of TCP/IP, switches, firewalls, routers, and their operations• Experience using Information Technology project lifecycle• Experience of High-Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools• Experience developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems• Experience managing special projects and manage resources• Experience with training others in standard IT HPC processes and procedures• Able to lift 15 pounds• Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours

Qualifications We Value: • An active DoD Secret Clearance• An active DoD Top Secret, TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance or prior SCI/program eligibility• Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification)• Direct working experience with NISPOM, JSIG, and/or DoD/RMF• 10 years' experience maintaining a medium to large sized HPC environment• Experience in Project Leadership, Management, or Project management in a DT domain• Intermediate to advanced scripting experience• Experience supporting engineers in software and hardware development• Advanced experience with Windows and Unix security hardening, systems integrations, advanced troubleshooting, and authentication service integration (LDAP)• Unix (Including Linux and Solaris), experience in a medium to high complex environment• High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment• Experience with Windows HPC Edition• Experience with High Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools such as SLURM, Grid Engine and Ganglia• Experience training and mentoring colleagues• Desire and ability to work as a contributing team member• Effective customer and communications skills• Ability to work under time constraints, self-starter, customer focused, adaptable and willing to work varying assignments• Organizational skills to include attention to detail, time management and ability to multitask

Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or

systems to provide enhancements within job area.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years. Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
