Job Description:
The Cloud Automation Engineer role has a major focus on infrastructure automation both on primus and in the cloud. This includes being able to design, program, simulate and test automated processes in order to execute exact tasks required to buildout complex infrastructure deployments repetitively. It requires a strong automation background in tools such as vRealize Automaton and/or Rightscale, programing and scripting capabilities and the knowledge to use configuration management tools such as VCM, CHEF, Puppet or Ansible. The engineer will be required to provide secondary support for the day-to-day operational support of the environment including: new system delivery, change requests, proactive availability and performance monitoring, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and the resolution of system issues. The ideal candidate will have engineering experience with both Windows based systems and virtual server environments running on top of VMware vSphere. Candidates must have strong communication skills, and the desire to work in a fast paced environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- The Cloud Engineer will demonstrate thought leadership in cloud computing across multiple channels and become a trusted advisor to decision makers.
- Will be required to analyze system requirements and ensures that systems will be securely integrated with current applications without impacting business continuity.
- Will have a deep understanding of system development in cloud environments, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Manage and troubleshoot the VMware vSphere environment.
- Programs, develops and automates IT infrastructure utilizing shell scripts, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, VMware vRealize Automation and VMware vRealize Operation products.
- Manage configuration management products such as VCM, Puppet or CHEF.
- Design and manage Cloud technologies including automation, process and governance.
- Provides secondary support for PKI Management, KMS knowledge, Failover Cluster Management, SCCM, Patching Operations, Open Manage Essentials, DNS, Active Directory, UCS, and Nutanix.
- Provides support for environment including new system delivery, change requests, proactive availability, performance monitoring, preventative maintenance, resolving system issues, preforming various types audit remediation, produce and maintain procedural documentation and assist in maintaining ticket queues.
- Drive product assessments and POC initiatives.
- Participate in on-call support rotation for problem analysis and resolution and other tasks directed by management.
Core Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent work experience required
- At least 10 years of experience supporting enterprise level applications and their infrastructure.
- At least 10 years coding/scripting in Ruby, Python or Perl OR at least 3 years coding/scripting in .Net and Powershell OR At least 2 years Cloud experience in Azure, AWS or GCE Skillsets
- Requires a strong knowledge of current cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
- Strong scripting and coding abilities (Ruby, Bash, Python, PowerShell)
- Heavy experience with automation and configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, RightScale, vRealize Automation)
- Experience with server automation techniques both on premise and in the cloud
- Very knowledgeable in Windows and Linux support
- Microsoft and/or Cloud Certifications desired
