Position Summary

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for architecting, maintaining and securing our network infrastructure in a growing complex environment. The Senior Network Engineer would also be assisting our Systems team in designing efficient and redundant connectivity for needed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
• Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices.
• Monitor network performance and integrity.
• Assist in troubleshooting server, application, and network issues.
• Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.
• Work with clients, as necessary, to support client-facing solutions such as secure FTP, S2S VPN and Client based applications.
• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
• Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining new workspace network infrastructures.
• Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery).
• Communicate with users when needed.
• Maintain complete technical network infrastructure documentation.
• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of systems and infrastructure experience.
• Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP).
• Solid background in network administration and architecture.
• In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF).
• Experience in Network Security and Compliance related certifications such as SOC2, PCI, EHNAC etc (specifically in the Health Care industry).
• Experience in enterprise-level monitoring tools for measuring network performance, and full environment reliability (e.g. SolarWinds, WhatsUpGol).
• A highly technical network engineer with a solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS, FirePower).
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team.

Special Considerations and Prerequisites

• Demonstrated technology abilities in a complex environment showing tenacity and creative ability to self-learn and create success in challenging application/IT infrastructures.
• Good grasp of the fundamentals of planning for scalability in a growing company.
• Experience managing infrastructures, particularly virtualized environments is a plus.
• Ability to work well with team members to produce results.
• Excellent communication skills, utilized to collaborate both within IT and across all functions of the company to drive IT initiatives.
• Minimal travel may be required to support satellite offices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure.
