Sr Manager, Systems Reliability Engineering
The Sr Manager of Systems Reliability Engineering (SRE) will lead a team of fun and passionate systems reliability engineers. You will support a variety of complex systems, and infrastructure for The Walt Disney Company. This includes support and collaboration with our Studios, our Media and Entertainment Distribution businesses, our Disney Parks, Experiences and Products segment, and our Imagineering teams to help create and operate amazing experiences for our guests. This specific SRE team is heavily focused in our infrastructure space, helping develop solutions for our infrastructure teams and customers using COTS products. Team will partner closely with these teams to develop end to end solutions using an SRE approach.
The Sr Manager of SRE oversees technical analysis, estimation, production environment system design, architectural fit and compliance, resource schedules, delivery milestones, collaboration with other engineering managers, and overall production environment quality. You will lead a team of engineers in a fun, energetic and creative environment. The manager of SRE reports to a Director with responsibilities including career management and setting the operational direction for areas of ownership.
Responsibilities :

Basic Qualifications :
- 5+ years experience in technology, leading projects, setting direction and coordinating efforts across a diverse group of technologist and business leaders.
- Experience leading engineering teams responsible for supporting and deploying internet based products or services
- Equivalent experience in technical operations or software engineering
- Detailed knowledge of core internet protocols including, but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS and HTTP
- Excellent written and verbal communications, proven ability to develop and deliver presentations geared for Senior and Executive Management
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and proven experience managing teams in highly matrixed organizations
- Understanding of programing languages such as Python, Go, C++, Ruby, or JAVA
- Proven ability to manage budgets
- Experience with web application development platforms, tools and utilities
- Understanding of configuration management frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
- Experiencing managing multiple hosting environments including public and private cloud solutions.
- Experience with scripting infrastructure with tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience leading multiple or cross functional engineering teams responsible for supporting and deploying internet based products or services and
- 3-5 years of hands on previous experience developing or supporting enterprise online products and services
- Detailed knowledge of core internet protocols including, but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS and HTTP
- Proven experience managing software development lifecycle platforms and tools
- Excellent written and verbal communications, proven ability to develop and deliver presentations geared for Senior and Executive Management
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and proven experience managing teams in highly matrixed organizations
- Working knowledge of advanced scripting and programing languages such as Python, Go, C++, Ruby, or JAVA
- Proven ability to manage budgets
- Experience with web application development platforms, tools and utilities.
- Understanding of Continuous Delivery and Integration frameworks including deployment automation and configuration management components such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible; test and review components such as Jenkins, Gitlab CI; source and bit repositories such as git, artifactory, nexus, maven.
- Experiencing managing multiple hosting environments including public and private cloud solutions.
- Experience with scripting infrastructure with tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation
Preferred Education :
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience in technical operations and software engineering.
