About Alteryx Machine Learning Organization

The Alteryx Machine Learning (AML) organization grew out of the acquisition of the MIT-spinoff Feature Labs. This rapidly growing organization combines the excitement of being part of a fast-paced, innovative startup with the resources, market penetration, and wisdom of a data analytics market leader. Our goal is to turbo-charge machine learning and data science efforts on the Alteryx platform, and to enable anyone to solve impactful data problems. We recently launched our first product in this area, Alteryx Machine Learning, to do just that. Overview

We are looking for a Sr. Manager of Engineering to lead the development of a new no code / low code product that will enable our customers to build analytics applications on the Alteryx Cloud platform. In this role, you will be partnering closely with our Product team to bring this innovation to life. This is a high-visibility role within Alteryx as we build towards a next generation of capabilities within our Designer Cloud and Machine Learning products. We are a startup-oriented organization, and the best candidates will bring a very iterative and resourceful mindset to the table.

Responsibilities

• Work with Engineering and Product leadership to define the vision and scope for this new team

• Develop a technology, product, and staffing roadmap to achieve the team’s goals

• Hire and then manage a team of Software Engineers and Managers of various levels to drive development of Alteryx’s Analytic App products, as well continued improvement of these products over time

• Provide feedback, coaching, mentoring and facilitate career growth of all your direct reports

• Make sustainable technical and architectural decisions for your team and products all the while ensuring high levels of quality

• Leverage feedback loops to continually iterate and improve on your team’s outputs over time

• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering Leadership on the product roadmap while owning the technical portion of it

• Navigate the ambiguity that is iterative product development

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in Engineering Management

• Expert level understanding of at least one modern web technology stack (Python, Node, Scala, etc.)

• Experience in modern front-end technologies and deployments, such as ReactJS

• Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and shipping cloud-based products to market as well as continued maintenance and support (full SDLC)

• Experience in scaling Single and/or Multi-Tenant platforms and products

• Architectural knowledge in building and scaling horizontal and vertical platforms

• Strong experience in cloud and docker based infrastructure and architecture

Bonus

• Experience with No Code / Low code solutions

• Startup experience

• Experience in compliant systems such as HIPAA as well as security certifications such as SOC2

Compensation

Alteryx is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in Boston is $140,400 - $238,700. This position is also remote-friendly and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. 

This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus and stock grants.
