Summary:
In this role, you will lead the Embedded Camera team in the creation of new Cameras and experiences. Cameras are a high growth product that deliver immense consumer value. Vivint's cameras feature industry leading crime deterrence driven by edge-based computer vision. You will partner with the computer vision team, the product team, the cloud team and our external partners. This is a great role that will give you exposure and knowledge of the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence (no prior IoT or AI experience necessary).
Primary Responsibilities:
- You'll lead the overall development of camera embedded software solutions and manage projects with significant impact.
- Coordinate with your senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for customer focused product development.
- Assure that your teams' designs meet product requirements and deliver high-quality work on schedule.
- Drive process improvements to aid in team coordination and efficiency.
- Communicate with leadership on status, issues, milestones, and successes.
- Mentor/Coach team members in development, tools, and processes.
Required Skills:
- Excellent people management and interpersonal skills, experience in a people management or leadership roles, experience growing high performing engineering teams
- A mindset of continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years' experience in engineering and at least 2 years management of a technical team
- This means you've got a strong technical background, but you also have held management positions and thrive on being an effective and loved leader!

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
