Job Type: Contract
Expectation: Hybrid

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand needs and develop solutions according to business requirements
  • Creates and maintains jobs to extract, transform and load data using ingestion tools and techniques
  • Be a key contributor to the data governance, privacy and cataloguing processes
  • Partners with Data Scientists to deliver critical business initiatives using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning tools, etc.
  • Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues; identifies and implements solutions
  • Collaborates with analysts to introduce and integrate analytics/data tools into the organization
  • Leads development of coding standards and enforce best practices and security guidelines
  • Researches and implements new technologies to enhance current processes, security and performance
  • Be a part of the team to completely owns and supports the application 24/7
  • Participates in organization wide analytics as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • Ideal candidate will be experienced, hands on developer and have demonstrable exposure to the below required skills
    • Java
    • Java developer
    • GIT
    • Back end development to handle JSON REST requests: Spring Framework, including Spring Data and Spring Data REST. May also have to use JDBC.
    • Front end development: HTML5, CSS3, Angular, Java Script, Jquery
    • .NET
    • C# .NET developer
    • GIT
    • Back end development to handle JSON REST requests: ASP.NET Web API, Entity Framework. May also need to use ADO.NET
    • Front end development: HTML5, CSS3, Angular, Bootstrap
    • Databases
    • Teradata, SQL, Oracle
  • 3 years of experience in Agile methods and mindset as an approach to software development

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • BS in Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, related fields or equivalent experience/training
  • Demonstrated aptitude for logical analysis, problem identification, and problem solving as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to use computer-based tools and programming languages to implement solutions
  • Experience in programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, HTML, Java Script, C#

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Advanced degree (MS) in Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics
  • 2+ years' experience in a technical professional environment
  • Familiarity with the airline/travel industry
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • R or Python programming
  • Alteryx data blending and Tableau data visualization
  • Data Mining/Big Data concepts and tools
  • Knowledge of classification, statistical and machine learning algorithms for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Ability to wrangle data from disparate sources into a comprehensive view of a business problem. Prior experience with recommender systems and/or text mining a plus.
  • Ability to work very well with an operationally driven business unit in an agile fashion.

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Advanced knowledge of programing languages, R, Python, SQL, HTML, Java Script, C#
  • Advanced knowledge of Tableau Data visualization and Alteryx Data blending
