Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer - Infrastructure & Operations. This is a contract to hire opportunity allowing of remote work structure.

Our client is seeking a hands on Sr. Systems Engineer - Infrastructure & Operations to manage and lead the Core Technology function. This person will be responsible for delivering and managing the services across cloud-based infrastructure, and end user technology and devices. This includes server, network, security and telephony management, provisioning, installation, configuration, operations and end user support. In addition, the responsibilities include management and oversight of out-sourced IT support team.

Developing and maintaining trustworthy relationships with business stakeholders will be a key responsibility, with the ability to self-start and work independently or function within a matrixed team.

Hiring Focus:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Ten years or more of solid, diverse work experience in IT, or the equivalent in education and work experience.
  • Knowledge of Architecture & Management of infrastructure and large systems within cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience as a technical lead working with Microsoft Workspace technologies including Active Directory Domain Services, SCCM, Office 365, and Azure cloud services.
  • Experience with IT Service Management, Network performance monitoring and ITSM tools.
  • Competence with flowchart data mapping tools (e.g. Visio, OmniGraffle).
  • Line Management experience of FTE and Contract resources.
  • Awareness of all Regulated environments and impact on Systems deployment and change control (e.g. HIPAA, PHI, PII, GxP, CFR Part 11, SOX, GDPR).


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Partner with Internal and external teams to provide leadership and support in the successful delivery of all strategic projects and ensure key deliverables are achieved for reliable support and maintenance.
  • Provide technical leadership and serve as an escalation point critical and complex incident management across technical team leads including Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Cloud File Storage, Windows 10, and Networking and related technologies.
  • Develop and manage standard processes for all infrastructure and support services, including incident management, problem management, configuration management, change and release management.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews for projects that require complex technical solutions and analyze all technical and business requirements
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation of all infrastructure systems including as-built and configuration updates, develops necessary operating procedures and training materials for IT and business users.
  • Responsible testing and deploying patches to Cloud and Office 365 environments in a staging environment and releasing changes to production environments.
  • Manage key vendor relationships for hardware, software and services including negotiations and contract management
  • Manage the full life cycle of IT hardware and software assets from procurement to deployment to retirement, including the maintenance of required asset data
  • Ensure daily backup operations are in alignment with business needs, ensuring all required file systems and system data are protected in appropriate off-site and redundant locations.
  • Manages the End User Computing (EUC) & Service Desk (SD) work performed through our out-sourced vendors to ensure service levels are being achieved.
  • Provides clear and concise status updates for agreed upon metrics to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Participate in external audits and conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance and accuracy of key processes and assets.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures to ensure regulatory and business needs are being met.
  • Maintain budgets that align with operating plans and service levels
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, or electronically
  • Support on-site and remote Corporate users
  • Management experience is a plus (e.g. Field support vendors)
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) with Microsoft Intune and Jamf
  • Online workstation imaging with Windows Autopilot
