Summary

The Sr. Director of Software Engineering is responsible for planning and executing at a strategic level, leading the design and development of software initiatives, and establishing software engineering best practices and standards for PosiGen.  The individual will complete expert software end to end engineering tasks including architecting, designing, developing, analyzing, configuring, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documenting, health monitoring/alerting, and implementing based on user or system specifications for impactful and high-visibility initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Sets technical direction and effectively influences across multiple teams to improve the overall quality of engineering practices and skill sets.
  • Analyzes and investigates applications engineering tasks and prepares design specifications, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Interacts with project managers, marketing, sales, and other users to define application requirements and/or necessary modifications.
  • Develops and tests Engineering Design Automation tools, creates flows/scripts to analyze and test design methodologies.
  • Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
  • Manages budget relating to the technology product and in alignment with strategic capacity planning
  • Creates, maintains, and troubleshoots new and existing mobile applications according to gathered specifications and departmental code standards.
  • Designs and implements cloud infrastructure solutions that best fit the business needs, while optimizing costs.
  • Develops common, repeatable, and automatable cloud infrastructure blueprints.
  • Identifies areas for improvement and develops innovative enhancements using available software development tools
  • Partners with cross-functional leaders to ensure technology solutions built by the engineering team align to overall architectural and business standards
  • Sets goals, strategies, budgets and oversees the deployment of large/enterprise scale initiatives and encourages a data-driven culture to improve the efficiency, scalability, stability, and security of applications
  • Manages a portfolio of services or applications and provides resources in support of the applications by leveraging partnerships with technology teams, vendors, and business leaders

 Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, information technology, or related field is required
  • 10-15 years of experience within software engineering and/or information technology
  • 5+ years' experience in Agile practices and/or DevOps
  • 7+ years' building and leading software engineering teams
  • Strong configuration, administration, design, and integration skills in AWS and GCPare required
  • Project management experience is required
  • Experience with multi-year resource projects, technology plan monitoring, and management.
  • A demonstrated history with cloud-based technology
