As a Sr. Director for Equipment Technology Development at Micron, you will lead a team of exceptional leaders and engineers towards enabling next generation equipment technology that drives competitive leadership in time to solution, equipment intelligence, productivity, and cost.
Responsibilities:

  • Safety/Sustainability. Be a leader for safety and sustainability in all aspects of Micron equipment roadmapCost competitiveness - Accelerate path to Micron's technology and cost leadership in the industry. Deliver on hardware and productivity solutions to meet NAND and DRAM business plan
  • Technology development and transfer execution- Deliver equipment solutions at right cadence. Transfer FOAK/Legacy Unique hardware to manufacturing and accelerate equipment maturity in support of ramp and TTMCY
  • Innovation agenda - Drive innovation mind set into organization. Align area and vendor roadmaps with Micron's technology roadmap. Deliver unique IP
  • Collaboration excellence - Effectively partners with HVM, OCT, PDE, MDE, Operations, Vendors, others stakeholders to deliver benchmark equipment performance
  • Pathfinding - Identify new strategic hardware partnership opportunities, drive existing ones, navigate complex relationships, and manage progress of joint development projects
  • Talent development and retention - Develop internal leadership and equipment/component expertise. Attract and retain best equipment experts in the world. Utilize effective performance management, succession planning, training, and leadership development to grow the team
  • Benchmarking - Understand competitive landscape, benchmark Micron's equipment performance, drive improvements based on benchmarking, Industry knowledge
  • PR&D Leadership - Focus on the collective team morale, organizational effectiveness, succession planning, D&I, TD infrastructure, and building a sense of pride for the site overall.


Required Skills

  • Equipment excellence in an area
  • Benchmarking, Understanding of equipment trends, knowledge of competitive positioning
  • Track record of accelerating equipment deliverables, challenging vendors, accelerating time to performance, productivity, and cost solution
  • Detailed understanding of process and hardware interactions in memory process technology
  • Experience in identifying problems and implementing effective, creative solutions
  • Skilled in establishing goals and driving the necessary results
  • Demonstrated record of executing against goals with a true senior leader mindset (e.g., builds a disciplined environment, knows when to get in the details vs. delegate)
  • Effective in balancing priorities between near term deliverables and longer term opportunities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple customers and simultaneous project deadlines
  • Ability to communicate to broad teams
  • Effective management of large expense and capex budgets
  • Proven ability to develop leaders and individual contributors with growth mindset and enable them to reach their full potential
  • Team-building skills, ability to delegate, motivate, and assist direct report in reaching their goals
  • Proven ability to give honest, tough, but productive feedback to the team, and be willing to receive it yourself


Required Experience/Education:

  • BS in Engineering and 10 years of semiconductor process and equipment engineer experience (exemption with 15 years of semiconductor process and equipment engineering and development experience)
