The Sr. Cloud Developer provides significant contributions in the design, coding, testing, support and debugging of new and existing AWS Cloud software solutions at Ally that meet business needs and support our tech and data architecture.

The Work Itself

• Develop and deploy serverless components hosted on AWS cloud technology
• Design, develop, and prototype cloud deployed services, APIs, and serverless "infrastructure as code" to enable business capabilities in alignment with the architecture direction and standards
• Deliver end-to-end UI and API solutions including planning, design, development, and testing
• Participate in an agile delivery process; size stories and own, research, and recommend new solutions
• Aid in implementation of various tools, collection of metrics to enhance visibility, and enhancements to service reliability

The Skills You Bring

• 3+ years experience with AWS cloud architecture and related technologies, preferably with AWS cloud developer certification
• Experience with browser-based technology, user interface development, responsive web design, and engineering cross-browser compliant code
• Strong working experience with at least one JavaScript framework - Vue, React, Angular, Ember, etc.
• Strong experience writing, testing, and debugging Python applications
• Excellent technical documentation capabilities (e.g., data models, process diagrams, high level designs)
• Strong DevOps process experience with tools such as Gitlab and Terraform
• Desire to work within a diverse group of people and passion for challenging the status quo

It's not expected that any single candidate would fulfil all of these characteristics. For instance, we have wonderful team members who are really focused on their customers' needs and building incredible data models, but didn't work on banking products before joining Ally.
