GDIT islooking for an experienced Cloud CybersecurityEngineerto providetechnical subject matter expertisefora small team focused on adoptinganarray ofCloud-based technologiesand services.The engineershould belooking to apply their experience withAWS, Azure, Google and other IaaS, PaaS, SaaS technology and servicestoassist in solving the technical challenges faced byour customers.Theteam evaluates newsolutionsto ensure that they aredesigned, engineered, and deployed to meetthesecurity objectives in mission-focused environments.

The Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer willbe responsible forevaluatingdesigns and helping toengineercloud-basedsolutions for customersin theirtransition toCloud and hybrid infrastructure. Theindividualwillassess andsupporttheintegration ofnew security features (CSP security tools, CASB, etc.) into existing infrastructures, providegapanalysis of cybersecurity features,and relatetheexisting system to future needs and trends. Workingcloselywith project leads, theCloudCybersecurityEngineer will provideengineering recommendationsthat align technical and security capabilities that support business needs.Theindividualwillalsoevaluate proposedcloud infrastructurechanges to ensure security protections remain effective.

As part of a small team, theCloudCybersecurityEngineerwill focus on providingCloudexpertiseonmethodical architecture evaluation,networking andfirewall rule evaluation, and intrusion detection and prevention sensor (IDPS) deploymentincloudenvironmentsthat enable continuous monitoring.

As a keycontributor toa large program, theCloudCybersecurityEngineermust be able to support specific projects and other team memberswithprojects,from inception through full implementation. They must share responsibility and information with peers tofacilitate opencommunication open andthesuccessful implementation of projects.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Work with customer to engage project managers in understanding security requirementsandbestpractices;
  • Evaluate proposedCloudarchitecture and protection changes toevaluate potential risksanddetermineeffectiveness;
  • Research emergingCloudand security technologies, policies, and best practices;apply to wide array of customerneeds;
  • Maintain awareness of current threats in support of security solution developmentefforts;
  • Work acrossCloud technology teams to enhance/reinforce security inCloud infrastructure efforts andbehaviors;
  • Provide briefingsand written recommendationsto senior leadership on major new technologies, issues, and changes that impact cyberrisks;
  • Provide technical expertise,working independently and with team members,to ensure maximum cybersecurityprotections;
  • Prepare and provide written and verbal recommendations for mitigating cyber risks across a wide array of technologies, includingCloud;
  • Document the standard operating procedures for supporting each capabilityandrecovering from any systemdegradation;
  • Provide technical expertiseto meet current and future security design,as well asarchitecture requirements for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaSimplementations;
  • Collaborate with fellow team members and various stakeholders,sharing information and knowledge to establish and maintain a productive line of communication.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in relevant field
  • Minimumfive(5)years of experience in enterprise systems lifecycle management, structured system development methodologies (preferably Information Engineeringwith a focus on cloud technology), structured analysis, and/or information systems development or a relevant technical discipline
  • Three (3) years of experienceengineering/administeringcloud solutions for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
  • Demonstrated experience working with network routing, virtual private networks (VPN), software defined networking (SDN), and PublicKey Infrastructure(PKI)
  • Proficiency in network protocol analysis, firewall, cryptographic standardsand related technical protection rule analysisfor both cloudand hybrid infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of network security monitoring principles, including IDS placement,bothCloud-based and on premise,supporting a hybrid infrastructure(host and network based)


Desired Qualifications:

  • BS in related field
  • Experience with the implementation and support of advanced Identity and Access Management solutions, including directory services, PIV,single-signon, authentication services, privileged access management, and federation(OAuth,OpenID, SAML, etc.)
  • Experience in Linux/Unix, shell scripting
  • Experience inPowershell
  • Experience with container technologies
  • Desired Certifications: CISSP, CCSP, ISSAP, ISSEP, CCNP, RHCE, CEH, AWS, Azure
