Job Description:
The Assembly Integration and Test Focus factor for L3Harris, is looking for an Experienced Mechanical Test Engineer. This position is to provide engineering support services to a variety of technical tasks of moderate scope and complexity associated with the design and test of highly complex optical sensing spaceflight hardware utilizing basic technical standards, principles, theories and concepts to develop and execute test plans and procedures.
Supports preparation of the test environment and is a contributor to Test Readiness Reviews as well as responsibility for reviewing and validating test results against requirements. Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for space-bound products, systems, components, or modifications. Testing can be related to vibration, shock, acoustic, modal and static load
Follows established procedures and specific, detailed instructions and/or guidance from more senior functional staffUltimately delivers thoroughly tested aerospace products, equipment and systems with supporting documentation to the customer (internal and external) complying with specifications and production requirements.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of typical vibration, acoustic, shock, static load related or industrial instrumentation and/or data acquisition systems; i.e. strain gauges, accelerometers, microphones, pressure transducers, etc.
- Demonstrated Mechanical Test lead experience
- Strong communicator, written and verbal communication a must within and outside of function.
- Ability to develop and execute procedures, document results, effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Able to generate detailed technical reports, data reduction for requirement verification.
- Proficient with MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
- Willing to work overtime, shift work (nights) or extended shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
- US Citizen with Bachelor's Degree Requires strong knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline.
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proficient in MatLab Experience with high reliability, aerospace products test and verification.
- Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline in the Aerospace or Defense industry
- Ability to deliver results as an individual contributor and a team lead.
- Familiar with Microsoft VISIO
- Current SSBI with Polygraph
